I spent more than 18 years working as a Correctional Officer in the San Luis Obispo County Jail and court system.  I retired on March 7, 2005 and have not looked back.  During those 18+ years I believe to have seen pretty much everything you might expect and more.  It is amazing what drugs and booze will do to a normal persons makeup and the sad part is the results of their behavior.  They do not suffer alone, but their families and friends do as well.
